Modere Collapse Review: Personal Care MLM Quietly Dies, Leaves Distributors in the Dark

In what can only be described as a masterclass in how not to shut down a company, personal care MLM Modere just ghosted its distributors like a bad Tinder date.

No warning. No heads up. Just a “goodbye” message slapped on the homepage like someone rage-quit at 2am and took the servers with them.

So what went wrong with Modere, the MLM darling that once peddled liquid collagen and “clean living”? Let’s unpack this glorious trainwreck.

Before I get into this, you should ALWAYS build your BRAND first and not other peoples or company brands like Modere.

That way people will know, like and trust you and you can sell anything on the back end including MLM products (personally there are better and higher commission products to sell through an affiliate link).

If you want to learn how you can build your own brand where you grow your following on social media at record rates and start generating leads and sales for ANY product, WATCH THIS FREE VIDEO.

If you want a product to sell that pays 80% commissions and is in high depend, WATCH THIS VIDEO.

You can even do both which I recommend doing.

Company Overview

Modere wasn’t just another MLM — it was a rebrand revival. Originally operating as Neways, the company got a makeover in 2014 courtesy of Z Capital Partners, a private equity firm under the umbrella of Capital Group LLC.

They hired former XANGO CEO Robert Conlee to run the show. Then in 2018, Asma Ishaq replaced Conlee and gave Modere a new-age “social retail” facelift.

Ishaq jumped ship in 2023 (lucky her), and Nate Frazier — who previously served as COO — was handed the reins.

And that’s when the slow death spiral began.

The Justin Prince Fallout

If there was a moment the wheels came off, it was the termination of top distributor Justin Prince.

Prince wasn’t just a top earner — he was Modere’s identity to many reps. So when the company gave him the boot in 2023 and filed a lawsuit accusing him of “sabotaging and crippling” Modere… it was like burning your house down to get rid of the termites.

Prince retaliated by launching Make Wellness, which was essentially a Modere exodus with a new label.

Ironically, Make Wellness isn’t exactly crushing it either — a 50% drop in U.S. website traffic as of Feb 2025 suggests Modere may have passed on more than its collagen.

The Collapse Nobody Saw (But Everybody Saw)

Despite bleeding top leaders and failing to win lawsuits against distributors, Modere kept pretending like everything was fine.

In February 2025, they even issued a press release claiming:

“As Modere continues to expand its reach and accelerate growth, we are thrilled to welcome Catherine to our leadership team.”

Yeah… about that.

Turns out, a month and a half later, the company completely collapsed — shutting down operations with no notice, no compensation, and no plan.

It’s like saying “business is booming” right before you unplug the coffee machine and run.

Lawsuits, Lies & LaCore

In the post-Prince fallout, Modere tried to stop the bleeding by suing Frequense, a brand under LaCore Enterprises, claiming they were poaching Modere’s top reps.

They even filed for an injunction to halt the exodus.

The court basically said “lol no,” and Modere quietly dropped the lawsuit in July 2024.

Since then, the company has been slowly hemorrhaging distributors until it just… flatlined.

The Real Red Flags

Let’s be honest, the collapse didn’t come out of nowhere.

  • They terminated their biggest rep.

  • They lost in court.

  • Their CEO left.

  • Their lawsuits failed.

  • Their press releases became increasingly detached from reality.

  • And their site traffic was shrinking like a snowman in July.

But instead of giving distributors a fair warning, Modere just shut off the lights and went home.

No final commissions. No compensation structure closure. Just poof — gone.

Final Verdict

Modere didn’t just collapse. It faked being alive, gaslit its reps, then vanished into the MLM afterlife with one last PR spin.

Here’s the checklist:

  • No retail products to differentiate from competitors

  • No corporate transparency in its final months

  • No exit plan for reps

  • No signs of actual “accelerated growth”

  • Lots of lawsuits, lies, and legacy baggage

At its peak, Modere was pushing “social retail” like it was the next evolution of direct selling. In reality, it was just another MLM with a shiny wrapper — and once the leaders left, so did the sales.

If your MLM needs a rebrand every five years and still collapses in the dark of night, maybe the model isn’t the problem — maybe the whole thing is just built on sand.

Goodnight, Modere. You won’t be missed… but you will definitely be memed.
