What happens when an experienced network marketing founder brings several wellness brands together under a new opportunity?
You get Zilara, a nutritional supplement company offering plant-based products and multiple ways to earn commissions.
At first glance, the business looks interesting.
It has identifiable leadership, real products, and a compensation plan that allows people to earn money from retail customers without building a team.
But there’s another side worth examining.
Zilara also offers substantial team-building bonuses, and qualifying for those deeper rewards involves personal product volume.
So is Zilara a promising wellness business, or does its compensation plan create unnecessary financial risks?
Let’s explore both sides.

What Is Zilara?
Zilara is an Ohio-based wellness and direct-selling brand operated under Green Organics, LLC.
The company offers nutritional supplements, botanical wellness products, essential oils, and other natural products.
Zilara operates through zilara.com and has connections to two established brands: goDesana and Heart & Body Naturals.
Rather than being an entirely unrelated venture, Zilara appears to serve as a primary growth platform within the Green Organics family.
This helps explain why products from the older brands appear in Zilara’s catalog.
Who Is Behind Zilara?
Zilara was founded by Paula Scarcella, who is also associated with goDesana, Heart & Body Naturals, and Green Organics.
One positive aspect is that the company publicly identifies its founder and provides information about its operations.
Green Organics describes itself as a manufacturer and distributor of natural products based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
That gives prospective customers and business partners more information than they would receive from an anonymous online opportunity.
Of course, transparent leadership is only the beginning.
We still need to examine the products and how participants earn money.
What Products Does Zilara Sell?
Zilara combines its featured cocoBlue supplement with products from its related wellness brands.
cocoBlue
cocoBlue is promoted as a whole-plant nutritional formula containing 5,000 mg of ingredients.
Its advertised blend includes blue spirulina, moringa, amla, coconut water, and several ocean-derived ingredients.
The advertised prices are:

The 30-serving package works out to approximately $3.83 per serving.
Whether that’s good value depends on the ingredient quantities, quality, and how it compares with competing supplements.
The ingredients themselves aren’t necessarily new, but combining established ingredients into a particular formulation can still create a distinct product.
However, consumers should distinguish general nutritional support claims from proven medical or weight-loss benefits.
Other Wellness Products
Zilara also offers products associated with:
- Heart & Body Naturals, including nutritional supplements.
- goDesana, including essential oils and related products.
- Additional botanical wellness and personal-care categories.
Having an established product catalog can be an advantage.
It gives customers more choices and potentially gives promoters products they can introduce to different audiences.
The question is whether customers find enough value to keep purchasing without any interest in the business opportunity.
How Does Zilara’s Compensation Plan Work?
Zilara markets its compensation system around six income streams.
These include retail commissions, community matrix earnings, binary team commissions, leadership matching, STAR bonuses, and rank achievement rewards.
That sounds complicated, but the basic idea is straightforward.
You can earn by referring customers who buy products.
Additional income opportunities become available when you maintain qualifying activity and develop a larger organization.
Let’s examine each part.
1. Retail Commissions: A Positive Starting Point
Zilara offers a 30% commission on personally referred retail customer orders.
Importantly, the company’s official compensation documentation says retail commissions require:
- No personal product volume.
- No monthly orders.
- No rank qualification.
- No team building.
For example, if a qualifying retail order has $100 in commissionable Business Volume, the advertised retail commission is $30.
That is an encouraging feature.
Someone interested primarily in selling products can potentially earn commissions without maintaining monthly inventory purchases.
This also gives us a meaningful distinction between retail selling and the more complex team-building opportunity.
2. Community Matrix Commissions
Zilara uses a 2×15 matrix structure.
Imagine starting with two positions beneath you.
Each position can expand into two more, creating a network that grows through fifteen levels.
The compensation plan advertises 5% commissions on qualifying Business Volume allocated to each level, subject to its specific volume rules.
The official plan explains that the first 10 BV of qualifying orders is used for community calculations.
The potential benefit is that participants may earn from sales activity beyond their immediate customers.
However, illustrations showing a completely filled matrix shouldn’t be mistaken for typical earnings.
A full fifteen-level matrix contains 65,534 positions, which is an enormous organization.
Most participants should not assume they’ll reach anything close to that scale.
3. Binary Team Commissions
Zilara also offers binary compensation.
A binary organization has two sides: left and right.
The plan defines a cycle as 100 BV on each side.
The advertised payout is 10% of the weaker side’s qualifying volume for that cycle, described as 10 BV or its equivalent.
To qualify for binary earnings, promoters must maintain 50 BV in personal activity.
This creates an important distinction.
Retail commissions can be earned without personal purchases, but binary commissions require additional qualification.
4. Leadership Matching Bonuses
Zilara offers matching commissions based on the matrix and binary earnings of people within a promoter’s organization.
The percentages increase with rank.

However, eligibility requires higher rank qualifications and 100 BV in personal activity.
5. STAR Bonuses
Zilara also offers a STAR Bonus system.
A qualifying order of at least 100 BV can generate a STAR Credit.
Credits help fill a 2×5 structure, with advertised bonuses ranging from $50 to $200 depending on the completed level and rank.

The current detailed plan indicates that STAR progress resets monthly.
This is worth understanding because accumulating credits doesn’t necessarily mean every participant will complete a grid or earn its advertised bonuses.
6. Rank Achievement Bonuses
Zilara also advertises one-time leadership bonuses.

The first 50% is paid after the rank achievement is verified, and the remaining 50% follows after maintaining the rank for three consecutive months.
These amounts are incentives for qualifying leaders, not a representation of typical promoter income.
How Much Does It Cost to Join Zilara?
Creating an account appears to be free.
However, Zilara uses different activity levels for different compensation benefits.

That distinction is important.
You don’t need monthly purchases to earn retail commissions, but you do need qualifying personal volume for several additional income streams.
Is Zilara Legal in the United States?
Multi-level marketing is legal in the United States when operated in accordance with applicable laws.
The Federal Trade Commission examines how an MLM actually operates, including its compensation incentives, retail customer demand, and whether participants purchase products primarily to qualify for rewards.
A company having genuine products doesn’t automatically prove compliance.
Likewise, paying commissions through multiple levels doesn’t automatically make a company illegal.
The important issue is what behavior the compensation plan encourages in practice.
Zilara’s retail commission option is a positive feature.
Its personal-volume qualifications deserve additional examination.
What About Canada?
Canada also permits legitimate multi-level marketing businesses.
However, the Competition Act contains specific restrictions on pyramid selling.
Among other things, Canada’s rules address compensation for recruitment, required purchases as a condition of participation, commercially unreasonable inventory purchases, and inadequate product return protections.
For Zilara, the important question would be how its activity requirements operate for Canadian participants and whether they satisfy applicable Canadian requirements.
I wouldn’t conclude that Zilara violates Canadian law without examining its actual Canadian operations and regulatory compliance.
Does Zilara Have Consumer Protections?
One encouraging discovery is that Green Organics publishes policies addressing business conduct.
Its policies instruct consultants not to make exaggerated income or medical claims and not to purchase products merely to manipulate rank.
The company also provides refund and return policies.
Those are positive steps.
However, written policies must be reflected in how the business operates.
A prospective promoter should still review the full refund terms, income disclosures, and actual purchasing requirements before joining.
What Are the Main Concerns?
The most important concern isn’t that Zilara sells supplements through network marketing.
It’s whether the higher-level compensation structure creates pressure to make recurring purchases that aren’t supported by genuine personal or retail demand.
For example, someone might purchase products every month because they enjoy using them.
That’s different from purchasing products they don’t need simply to maintain commission eligibility.
The FTC considers that distinction important.
Other questions worth answering include whether the company publishes typical net earnings, how much product volume comes from genuine customers, and how often participants recover their expenses.
These are reasonable questions for any MLM, not accusations of wrongdoing.
My Zilara Review Verdict
Zilara has several encouraging features.
It has identifiable leadership, a real wellness product catalog, publicly available compensation documents, and a retail commission option without personal purchase requirements.
Those positives deserve recognition.
At the same time, the higher-level compensation system creates questions about personal-volume qualifications, recruitment incentives, and typical participant profitability.
I wouldn’t label Zilara a scam based on the information examined. However, I would approach its business opportunity carefully and request more financial evidence before joining.
If you’re interested in the products, evaluate them on their own merits.
If you’re interested in building a business, start by understanding the retail customer opportunity and all recurring expenses.
The strongest business is one that provides genuine value to customers, whether or not those customers ever become promoters.
A Christian Perspective: Truth With Love
As a follower of Jesus Christ, I believe we should approach every business with honesty, wisdom, and compassion.
Ephesians 4:15 teaches us to speak the truth in love.
That means recognizing what a company does well while respectfully questioning practices that deserve clarification.
It also means remembering that business owners, promoters, and customers are people made in God’s image.
We shouldn’t assume someone is dishonest simply because we disagree with their business model.
My prayer is that everyone involved in Zilara would pursue integrity, treat customers fairly, and make decisions that genuinely benefit others.
The Greatest Opportunity Is Knowing Jesus Christ
Financial success can be wonderful.
Building a business can provide opportunities to support our families and help others.
But no amount of money can provide what our souls need most.
Jesus asks in Mark 8:36 what it profits someone to gain the whole world but lose their soul.
Romans 3:23 teaches that all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.
That’s why we need a Savior.
Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
Through repentance and faith in Him, we can receive forgiveness and eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that salvation is God’s gift of grace, not something we can earn.

Because the greatest life isn’t found in a compensation plan or a financial opportunity.
It’s found in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
