Tastefully Simple Is Keeping the Food, But Dropping the MLM

Tastefully Simple

Well, here’s something you don’t see every day.

A company that’s been around for 31 years has decided it’s time to retire its traditional MLM business model.

And no, Tastefully Simple isn’t disappearing.

The Minnesota-based food company is simply changing how it sells products and rewards the people promoting them.

On October 31, 2026, founder and CEO Jill Blashack Strahan announced that the traditional direct-sales channel will officially end on December 31.

Starting January 1, 2027, the company will focus on affiliate marketing, wholesale distribution, and direct-to-consumer sales.

So the food stays.

The traditional MLM structure goes.

Let’s look at what that means.

Before we jump in!

If you’re looking for legitimate ways to build income online, my good friend Dan offers a FREE training showing a crypto cash flow strategy that has helped people achieve approximately 3% to 10% per month while maintaining 100% control of their own funds (as with any investment, results aren’t guaranteed).

You’ll also hear from Paul, who teaches complete beginners how to build an online business using AI and proven systems.

Both have been faithfully helping people for years, and I’ve seen some incredible testimonies.

Most importantly, remember that our greatest hope is never found in money, but in Jesus Christ. These are simply tools that can help us become wise stewards of what God has entrusted to us.

Now, let’s dig in.

Why Did Tastefully Simple Make This Decision?

In a video posted on the company’s official Facebook page, Strahan explained that she had spent considerable time thinking about the future.

Her conclusion?

Tastefully Simple needed to adapt to how people shop and do business today.

And I can understand that.

Years ago, direct-selling parties and building distributor teams were a major part of the industry.

Today, someone can discover a product on social media, click a link, and order it within minutes.

No recruiting presentation required.

Tastefully Simple had already started transitioning toward an affiliate-style model in 2024.

This latest announcement finishes that transition.

What Happens to the Ambassadors?

Here’s where things get interesting for existing sellers.

Tastefully Simple’s TS Ambassadors have been moving away from recruiting and team-building.

Under the new structure, participating sellers will be known as Ambassador Affiliates.

Their main job is to recommend products and generate sales through their shopping links.

Simple enough, right?

Instead of worrying about sponsoring five people who sponsor another five people, sellers can focus on finding customers who actually want the products.

Strahan also mentioned a special commission for Ambassador Affiliates.

However, the exact payout percentage wasn’t established in the supplied announcement.

Some ambassadors may also choose to become wholesalers.

Naturally, the updated commission terms will matter a great deal to longtime sellers.

There’s One Interesting Catch

Tastefully Simple also sells products through major retail channels, including Walmart and Amazon.

And that creates an interesting situation.

Imagine spending time promoting your favorite Tastefully Simple product.

You explain why you like it, share your affiliate link, and help someone discover it.

Then that customer checks Amazon or Walmart to compare prices.

That’s the reality of affiliate marketing.

The product has to be competitive, and the affiliate needs a compelling reason for customers to purchase through their link.

It’s not necessarily a bad arrangement.

But it’s something sellers should understand before jumping in.

Is This the Future of Direct Selling?

I’m not saying every MLM company will abandon recruiting tomorrow.

But Tastefully Simple’s decision is worth paying attention to.

After more than three decades, the company has decided that an affiliate-focused approach better fits its future.

And here’s something I appreciate about a straightforward affiliate model.

The emphasis can be on selling products people genuinely want rather than constantly building a bigger downline.

Of course, affiliate marketing isn’t a guaranteed path to success either.

You still need customers, competitive products, and a commission structure that makes financial sense.

For now, Tastefully Simple’s traditional MLM operations are scheduled to end December 31, 2026.

The next chapter begins January 1, 2027.

Thirty-one years of MLM history, and the company is choosing a different recipe for its future.

The Greatest Gift Isn’t Something We Can Buy

Before I go, I want to share something that means more to me than any business opportunity.

Jesus Christ.

We spend so much of our lives working, building businesses, and trying to create a better future for our families.

But Jesus asks an important question in Mark 8:36.

What does it profit us to gain the whole world but lose our souls?

Money cannot purchase forgiveness or eternal life.

The Bible teaches that all of us have sinned and need a Savior.

And God, in His incredible love, sent His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He is the true living God!

Through repentance and faith in Him, we can receive forgiveness and eternal life.

Not because we earned it, but because of God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8–9).

If you haven’t placed your faith in Jesus Christ, I encourage you to read the Gospel of John.

Get to know Him, trust Him as your Lord and Savior, and discover the gift of eternal life.

Businesses will change.

The world will change.

But Jesus Christ remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

All glory, honor, and praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

If you haven’t accepted His gift of salvation, I encourage you to turn to Him today.
