Blessings In No Time Founders Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison Over $29M Scheme

Blessings In No Time co-founders Marlon and LaShonda Moore have been sentenced to a combined forty years in federal prison following their conviction tied to the collapse of the Blessings In No Time gifting scheme.
The Moores were sentenced on June 9th after years of legal proceedings involving fraud allegations, rejected plea deals, and repeated sovereign citizen filings that were ultimately denied or dismissed by the court.
In addition to prison time, the Moores were ordered to pay approximately $4.3 million in restitution.

The Sentencing
According to court records:
Counts 1 and 2 each carried 240-month sentences and were ordered to run consecutively.
Counts 3 through 9 were ordered to run concurrently.
Effectively, this results in a forty-year prison sentence.
The case marks one of the more severe outcomes involving an MLM gifting scheme from the COVID-era boom in online investment fraud.
What Was Blessings In No Time?
Blessings In No Time, also known as BINT, operated as a multi-million-dollar gifting scheme during the pandemic.
Participants were encouraged to send money with promises of receiving substantially larger “blessings” in return.
The operation reportedly generated approximately $29 million before regulators intervened.
The FTC previously settled civil fraud charges against the Moores for $9.7 million in 2020.
Federal criminal charges followed shortly afterward.
Sovereign Citizen Defense Strategy Failed
One of the more unusual aspects of the case was the Moores’ embrace of sovereign citizen legal theories.
Throughout proceedings, the couple filed numerous objections, declarations, and motions challenging the legitimacy of the court and legal process.
All were denied or overruled.
After plea agreements entered in February 2025 were later rejected by the court, the Moores proceeded to trial in January 2026 while representing themselves with standby counsel.
The jury convicted them on all counts on January 9th, 2026.
A Sobering Reminder
Cases like this are tragic on multiple levels.
Not only because investors lost millions…
But because pride, deception, and bad counsel often deepen the damage.
Scripture repeatedly warns about dishonest gain and the consequences of greed.
Proverbs 28:20 says:
“A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.”
Financial desperation can make people vulnerable to promises of easy wealth.
But Christians are called to pursue honest work, integrity, stewardship, and truth.
Not schemes built around unrealistic returns and endless recruitment.
Did Their Courtroom Strategy Hurt Them?
One notable line from the sentencing records stated that the Moores reviewed their pre-sentence report with counsel “even though they do not completely understand it.”
That raises difficult questions.
Because instead of focusing on legal strategy, cooperation, or accountability, much of the case became centered around sovereign citizen arguments that courts routinely reject.
Whether that influenced sentencing directly is unclear.
But it’s difficult not to wonder whether humility and repentance may have led to a different outcome.
Final Thoughts
The Blessings In No Time case serves as another warning about the dangers of MLM gifting schemes and financial programs built around unrealistic promises.
It also highlights how deception rarely stays contained.
Eventually, legal consequences arrive.
And often, the damage extends far beyond money.
Lives, families, reputations, and futures can all be destroyed when greed replaces wisdom and integrity.
As believers, discernment matters.
Truth matters.
And pursuing honest gain will always matter more than chasing quick riches.
