Amway IBOs Are To Refrain From Coronavirus Referencing

Some more Coronavirus issues in the network marketing industry.

Recently Amway is telling their IBO’s NOT to make any references to the Coronavirus when selling their products.

According to an Amway statement:

Amway is closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. We understand that these are trying times for all business owners, and there are challenges to operating in an unprecedented business environment.

Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the health and safety of all, we must stress that NO Amway products may be advertised, marketed or otherwise represented as a means to treat, cure or prevent Coronavirus or the spread of Coronavirus. Such claims are not permissible by law and are strictly prohibited by Amway.

Furthermore, IBOs are to refrain from referencing – in social media or other presentations, in-person or by electronic means – COVID-19 or Coronavirus in connection with Amway products or the Amway business. This prohibits, but is not limited to, the use of hashtags, including those referencing the Amway business or Amway products in any statement that also references COVID-19 or Coronavirus, and vice versa.

In short, do not associate Amway products or your independent business with COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Amway products do not treat, prevent or cure disease, and responsible messaging is critical to operating your independent business.

To provide additional clarity, Amway has provided Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), which specifically address restrictions in promoting Atmosphere Sky Air Treatment System, eSpring Water Purifier System, Pursue, Nutrilite and other Amway products.

We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time.

This has been a BIG issue in the network marketing industry and there was an article done by CNBC called “Multilevel marketing sellers are using coronavirus to push oil and vitamin sales on Facebook” that completely made the industry look bad.[1]

Network marketing companies are telling their distributors not to sell their products as some kind of coronavirus cure or treatment.

People could face complete termination of their membership if they do so.

You will always have those small group of people that make the rest of the industry look ad.

It’s just the way things go in ANY industry.
