Back in 2021: WinWheel and Connect United
Back in 2021, a scheme called WinWheel rolled onto the scene. Think of it as a reboot of the failed Algotech Ponzi scheme, starring the same folks from the OneCoin Ponzi scam. The gang’s all here!
WinWheel promised investors easy money through “node positions” linked to a company called Connect. Sounds legit, right?
Quick Summary of WinWheel
In a nutshell, WinWheel was a Ponzi scheme tied to Connect, a mysterious blockchain company claiming to be from the US. Both companies were run by serial scammers with business plans that could give a puzzle master a headache.
WinWheel crashed faster than a kid on a sugar high, but Connect rebranded as Connect United and continued the scamming spree. Gotta admire their persistence!
Who’s Behind Connect United Review?
Connect United is as transparent as a brick wall. Their website just takes you to an affiliate login form. Talk about a warm welcome!
In 2021, we discovered that Stephen Michael Miller from Utah was the face of Connect United. Guess he drew the short straw.
As of May 2024, Miller’s LinkedIn says he’s been the COO of Connect since 2018 and President since July 2020. Before diving into MLM crypto schemes, he worked in real estate. From selling houses to selling dreams!
Remember, if an MLM company isn’t upfront about who’s running the show, it’s like trusting a chef who won’t tell you what’s in the soup. Think twice!
Connect United’s Products
Connect United doesn’t sell any actual products or services. Affiliates can only sell the Connect United affiliate membership itself. Exciting, huh?
Connect United’s Compensation Plan
Affiliates invest in “win nodes” and “switch node” positions:
- A win node investment costs $2000 annually.
- A switch node investment costs $8900 annually.
They promise a variable daily passive return. But heads up! While they talk about USD, rewards are actually paid out in a USD equivalent, not real USD. Sneaky!
Returns and commissions are paid in the company’s WIN token. Just what everyone needs, more imaginary money!
Connect United Affiliate Ranks
There are four ranks in Connect United’s compensation plan:
- Droid – Sign up as a Connect United affiliate and invest in a win node position. (Beep boop, you’re in!)
- BlockBot – Recruit five affiliates who invest in a win node position and earn $10,000 in commissions over 12 months. (Level up!)
- BlockBot5 – Have a BlockBot or higher-ranked affiliate in five separate recruitment legs. (Team building exercise!)
- BlockBot10 – Have a BlockBot5 or higher-ranked affiliate in five separate recruitment legs. (Advanced team building!)
- BlockBot20 – Have a BlockBot10 or higher-ranked affiliate in five separate recruitment legs. (Team building extreme edition!)
Referral Commissions
Connect United pays referral commissions on invested funds down two levels of recruitment (unilevel):
- 10% on level 1 (personally recruited affiliates).
- 5% on level 2.
BlockBot and higher-ranked affiliates get a bonus 10% on level 1. Because who doesn’t love bonuses?
Cost to join Connect United Reviews
Joining Connect United is free, but to fully participate you need a:
- $2000 win node investment, or
- $8900 switch node investment.
These amounts are from Connect United’s marketing materials. Live pricing seems to vary based on whatever amount Connect United feels like charging. Once quoted, investment costs are “locked in place for 30 minutes.” Talk about pressure!
Connect United takes investments in USD (credit cards), tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), and its own WIN token. Choose your flavor of funny money!
Connect United Scam Conclusion?
WinWheel’s simple investment scheme was buried under layers of crypto jargon and pseudo-compliance. Connect United is pretty much the same circus, different tent.
Stripping away the jargon, here’s the deal: affiliates sign up, invest in “node positions,” and get passive returns. Commissions are paid for recruiting more investors who do the same. Classic Ponzi move!
Despite being based in the US and mainly serving US residents, neither Connect United nor Stephen Miller is registered with the SEC. Big red flag!
The Money Side of Things
Connect United seems to be laundering funds through Switch Pay, a domain registered privately in February 2024. Because why not add a side of mystery?
Shell companies listed on Switch Pay’s website include Fortress Trust LLC, Ibanera LLC, and Switch Reward Card DAO LLC, but no real info is given. Suspicious much?
To hide its link with Connect United’s fraudulent scheme, Switch Pay pretends investments are NFT purchases. Because nothing says “trustworthy” like NFTs!
The only real source of revenue for Connect United is new investment. The money from transactions is distributed according to their Win Blockchain Distribution Algorithm. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it?
Using new investments to pay returns makes Connect United a Ponzi scheme. Classic move!
Like all Ponzi schemes, when recruiting new affiliates dries up, so does new investment, leading to a collapse. It’s like a bad sequel you saw coming from a mile away.
